Chiropractors who are trained and licensed are perfectly safe. While there are some serious complications that can be associated with chiropractic adjustment, these are incredibly rare and do not usually occur in patients. Chiropractic care is, though, recognized as being one of the safest, drug-free, and non-invasive therapies available for treating neuromusculoskeletal problems, and has an excellent safety record.
Chiropractors are professionally considered safe and have been shown on a large scale to help with several issues. These include back pain, neck pain, sciatica, chronic pain, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia numbness in hands or feet, pain related to injuries, headaches and more.
If you suffer from any of the following conditions, it is recommended that you not seek out chiropractic care: severe osteoporosis; cancer in the spine; an increased risk of stroke; or a known bone abnormality in your upper neck.
As with any medical procedure or treatment, it is recommended that you speak with your medical care provider about what will best suit you. If you have any questions or concerns about whether chiropractic care is appropriate for you, speak with your primary care physician before booking an appointment.
